Question:
My wife and I are trying to make our own food for our 6-month-old daughter. How do we get all of the little lumps out? Some things, such as carrots, are still lumpy after mashing, etc.

Answer:
Bake or steam foods first. Use as little water as possible when boiling or steaming foods to retain the nutrients. Most cooked foods can be mashed finely enough with a fork or large spoon. A liquidiser, food processor or whisk may puree the foods a little more finely. If the lumps remaining are very small and soft, your daughter will probably be fine.
