Coping with two children can leave you feeling exhausted, so it's important to eat well and stay healthy. Nutritious spinach, broccoli and kale, eggs, and lean red meat are packed with iron - a vital part of your diet, especially if at the moment.
MUM CARE: ARE YOU REMEMBERING TO EAT HEALTHY FOOD?

As much as you relish in the joy of watching your growing little family develop and create strong bonds with each other, you may also be feeling incredibly tired right now that you have two small children to care for. This may lead to recognizing that you might not always have the time or the energy to cook wholesome food for adults every night after caring for the children all day.

If you work outside the home, you may be skipping lunch and falling back on biscuits, crisps or chocolate as your snack solution. Many mothers are so focused on healthy food for their children that they tend to forget themselves. So, do get your GP to check your iron levels, especially if you feel run down.

Try to make sure that you eat enough dark vegetables like spinach, broccoli and kale, as well as fortified cereals, lean red meat (or a vegetarian substitute) and eggs to supplement your intake of iron. Drink lots of water to avoid dehydration and help your kidneys to function well.

There’s nothing like a nutritious, balanced diet to help you stay fit and healthy and have enough energy to cope with the new demands of dual motherhood.
